You know the drill. I find the smartest, edgiest, and hopefully sexiest people I know who have the characteristics of entrepreneurship to contribute advice to The Chancebending Network. Today we’re talking with Jerry Kowal of BitMovio.

Jerry weighs in on how the traditional media companies will compete with market leaders Netflix and Amazon…

“In the streaming video entertainment market, the trend toward large studios and significant content owners introducing major direct to consumer initiatives will continue and accelerate over the next few years. With major D2C services being announced by Disney, Warner and Comcast, in addition to existing services such as CBS All Access, it’s clear that traditional media players see this as an almost existential battle for survival against market leaders such as Netflix and Amazon, who have years of data analytics and content budgets the traditional guys may not be able to compete with. Most interesting in all of this from my perspective is how these traditional players will attempt to drive the kind of user engagement required for these D2C services to be successful, when most have little or no experience launching successful D2C digital products. The next several years should be interesting indeed!”
