You know the drill. I find the smartest, edgiest, and hopefully sexiest people I know who have the characteristics of entrepreneurship to contribute advice to The Chancebending Network. Today we’re talking to Scott Jones.

One Question with… Scott Jones, Product & Innovation Leader and Consultant

“A particular area of interest to me is the appropriation of commercial adtech and martech for humanitarian outcomes. Imagine that 85% of refugees transversing Europe, for example, have state of the art smart phones but rely on peer-to-peer chat for information. Zoom out to the entirety of the globe and increasing share of the world’s poor, marginalized and underserved have smart phones as their gate way to the internet. They are showing up in adtech infrastructure but no audience models and advertisers are looking for them. Imagine using the same commercial tools and techniques but instead of identifying that a user on a smart phone would be a good fit for an ad about buying diapers at a hyperlocal store, imagine that I guess the user is a refugee looking for shelter and connect them with a highly rated facility a few blocks away from their location. The punchline is the notion of a humanitarian ad network, for lack of a better term.”
