You know the drill. I find the smartest, edgiest, and hopefully sexiest people I know who have the characteristics of entrepreneurship to contribute advice to The Chancebending Network. Today we’re talking to Kevin Rivers of Black Ventures.

One Question with… Kevin Rivers, Black Ventures

“The digital media industry trends in 2019 is consolidation. As digital content become more important in today’s streaming climate, larger content holders are looking for smaller assets to acquire to build a solid media portfolio. For example, major record companies are launching music tech startups like Spinnup (UMG) and Level Music (Warner Music) to license or acquire the catalog of smaller artists in hopes to gather data of the next superstar.

This is also true in the mobile gaming space. In today’s climate, it’s about acquiring existing rights and IPs of smaller publishers and developers to build a large portfolio for revenue growth. Fortunately, anyone can do this through third party selling sites like Flippa or Sedo. As Managing Partner at Black Ventures, we’re actively looking for digital assets to acquire with a focus on music, media, and mobile gaming. Our mission is to build a large portfolio of assets in these sectors as we believe this will drive huge revenue potential in the upcoming decade.”
